Ignition Coil Adapter Kit - 1937-41 Ford Truck, 1937-41 Ford Car
This kit replaces the original distributor-mounted 6-volt coil and allows you to install a modern-style coil. It’s compatible with both 6-volt and 12-volt systems. Included are a period-correct coil replacement cap, a cork gasket that seals to the distributor just like the original, a modern condenser, and a coil wire long enough to mount your new coil in various locations.
While we offer several optional components—such as a 6-volt coil (8BA-12029), multiple 12-volt coils (B6A-12029-B, B6AZ-12029, D5AZ-12029), several coil brackets (8N-12043, 8BA-12043, C0AF-12043-A, C4DZ-12043), and a range of resistors (9N-12250, A8NN-12250-AR, A8NN-12250-BR, 18-12250)—these are not included in the kit, allowing you to select the parts that best fit your specific vehicle setup.
Important Note:
To prevent burning up your coil, a coil resistor is necessary when not using an internally resisted coil.
